Verification policy and badge meanings
Exactly what each SafeNest badge does and does not mean.

Identity verified
A SafeNest verifier has seen a government identity document and confirmed the lister's contact details. It means SafeNest knows who the person is. It does not mean SafeNest vouches for their behaviour.
Rental authority verified
A SafeNest verifier has reviewed evidence that this person may offer this property: ownership or management evidence for an owner, or the main rental contract plus written sublet permission for a tenant.
Live video verified
A SafeNest verifier walked through the property with the lister on a live video call on a stated date and checked the entrance and address, bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, common areas and the facilities claimed in the listing. It is a remote check, not a physical inspection.
In-person verified
A SafeNest verifier or trusted representative physically attended the property on a stated date and checked the same list. This is the stronger of the two property checks and is labelled separately for that reason.
What no badge means
No badge means SafeNest has confirmed that a property is a good deal, that a lister will behave well, or that a tenancy will succeed. Badges state what was checked and when. Never transfer money before you, or someone you trust, have seen the room.
Expiry and re-verification
Each verification carries a validity date. Verification lapses and the badge is removed when the date passes, when important listing details or ownership change, when documents expire, or after a serious report.
